Have you ever heard of a Cathead Biscuit?
For those of you who
haven't -- a Cathead is a biscuit made with lard, squeezed out by hand,
and, when cooked, is as big around as a cat's head. And, no, they don't
call it that because they eat domesticated animals in the South.
And, do you know the true test of a well-made Cathead?
When you split it open
while it's steaming hot and slather it with butter, you can drag it
through thick, golden, Southern cane syrup, and it will hold together.
Leave it out overnight uncovered, and you could chunk it across the room
and kill someone with it.
Ever wish you could read fiction with engrossing
storylines, rich in all the emotions of life with a few yummy recipes
mixed in? How about novels that transport you to the New Deep South for
your own primer in all things southern?
How about tales with hopeful, yet realistic, endings?
Well, honey hush! Your wishes are Rhett DeVane's passion!
